Dr. Abhay MoghekarAssistant Professor of Neurology
Dr. Abhay Moghekar received his medical degree from the University of Bombay, India. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Harbor Hospital Center Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland followed by residency training in Neurology and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at The Johns Hopkins University.
Now an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Moghekar’s clinical work focuses on dementia of all types, with a special interest in adult hydrocephalus, Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.
Dr. Moghekar’s research focuses on how age affects the way nerve cells process a substance known as beta-amyloid. Beta amyloid is thought to play a role in the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Moghekar currently sees patients at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center located in Baltimore on Wednesdays.
